I worked in the patient office of Dr. Ballinger many years ago. He was so kind and a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathies to his family. He was a great man as well as physician.

Walter was a brilliant and accomplished physician and an even better human being. It was my honor to call him "friend" and to work and travel with him. The WUMS Health Administration Program was also honored to have him on its faculty as Professor of Medicine in Health Care Administration. Lynn and I send our personal condolences to Mary Randolph and all of Walter's family and friends. James O. Hepner (Jim)
