Larson, Rolland Rollie died on Friday, August 22, 2014 in St. Louis, MO at the age of 81. Mr. Larson was born in Minneapolis, MN to Archie and Bernadene Larson. He grew up in Elk River, MN, served in the United States Army, graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1957 and he married Nettie Harder in 1962 in San Mateo, CA. The Larson's then settled in St. Louis County with their small children where Rollie worked for the fledgling St. Louis Community College District as a Physical Facility Specialist until his retirement in 1990. Rollie dedicated his retirement years to raising Cattle, planting gardens, rehabbing properties, spending time with his wife and contributing in time and talents to his beloved St. Mark's Lutheran Church and his son's residence at Emmaus Homes in Marthasville, MO. Mr. Larson is survived by his wife Nettie, daughter(s) Geta Jackoway (Patrick), Lisa Albers (Michael), Beverly Velloff (Michael) and son Thomas. Mr. Larson is survived by siblings Neil (Bonnie), Sharon Janzen (Norm), Jerald (Phyllis), Shirley McMillan and Richard (Rose). He was always active in the adventures of his grandchildren Andrew, Daniel, Grant, Hanna, Isabelle, Clara and Cain. Rollie was always ready to hear a great tale and reveled in telling stories of everyday adventures. He sought to capture history and find someone to debate it's relevance at every opportunity. Services: The Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6337 Clayton Rd., Clayton (63117) on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rollie will be buried in a private committal service in Orrock Township, MN. Memorials appreciated to Emmaus Homes, Inc., 3731 Mueller Rd., St. Charles, MO 63301 or St. Mark's Church or the Sherburne County Historical Society, 10775 27th Ave., SE, Becker, MN 55308.
