Hicks, Edward J. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Tues., Nov. 29, 2011. Beloved husband for 60 years of the late Rosemary C. Hicks (nee Burns); dear father of Peggy (David) Renard, Kathleen McGahan, Nancy (David) Ahillen, Barbara (David) Belcher and the late Joan Hicks; dear grandfather of David (Shannon) and Mark (fiancee Elizabeth Brown) Renard, Melanie (Shannon) Summers, Jacqueline (Adam) Walker, Steven Ahillen, Julie (Jared) Degenhart and Jennifer (fiance Jason Hummel) Rogles; dear greatgrandfather of Charles Summers and Alexandra Renard; dear brother of the late Virginia (Willard) Lotz; dear brother-in-law of the late Mary Margaret (Theodore) Bukowsky and Ruth (John W.) Moore; our dear uncle, cousin and friend. Ed proudly served his country in WWII. He was a longtime member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge and the Kirkwood Thermaleers model airplane club. Ed worked 33 years at Ameren Union Electric. He was a founding member in 1959 of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church and remained active in the parish throughout his life. Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Fri., Dec. 2, 11:30am to St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church for 12 noon Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hos pital or St. Louis University High School appreciated. Visitation Thurs., 3-8pm.
