Achter, Rudolph H. passed peacefully on December 6, 2013 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Delores Achter (nee Landman) for 65 years; dear father of Barbara Turner of Imperial, MO, Linda (Mark) Starnes of Tacoma, WA and the late JoAnn (survived by Michael and Mary) Scaglione of Imperial, MO; dear grandfather of Chris Hayes, Carmen (Matt) Floodman, Sarah (Matt) Komadina, Michael Jr. and Matthew (Ashley Winkler) Scaglione, Jason (Leanne Coughlin) Starnes, Cara and Ryan Starnes, Nathan (Brandy) Turner, T.J. (Renne) Turner, Joseph (Stephanie) and Jonathan Rose; dear great-grandfather of Joel, Luke and Samuel, Rayne, Aliyah, Haylie, Zea and Addy, Gregory, Carter and Graclyn; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Rudy was very proud and honored to be a veteran. He served in the US Army during WWII and in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Alumax in St. Louis after 42 years. He enjoyed driving his motor home and vacationing with his family. Rudy will be loved and remembered by all who knew him. Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 3-8 p.m., then taken to Imma nuel Lutheran Church (Barnhart, MO) for visitation Wednesday 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
