Dear Mimi,
I went to decorate your grave yesterday for Christmas. I don't know why I am telling you this as I am sure you were watching me. So I guess you got a good laugh when I reached in my pocket to take out the prayer We Remember Them and pulled out two coupons from Bed Bath And Beyond. Pam was with me and we just started laughing. This would not be a good year for you and your shopping. The economy is just the pitts. If you can run up that stock market in the next few days that would be great for many of his here who would like to spend the day at Neimans. I miss you so much! Love, Gregory

Dear Mimi,
Today is the anniversary of your death. I will be out to visit with you soon and read theses prayers.
Exalted G-d, who are ful of compassion, grant the fullness of
Thy peace to the soul of ........... who has gone to her eternal
rest. May she share in the glory of the upright, the luster of whose
purity is as the brightness of the firmament. Her memory lives in
the hears of her dear ones as an inspiration to deeds of charity and
goodness. O may she be granted the bliss of eternal life. Shelter himher
forever, O thou Merciful Lord, under the wings of Thy protecting
love, and may her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life.
the Lord is her possession. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Exalted, compassionate G-d, grant infinite rest in Your
sheltering presence, among the holy and pure, to the souls
of all our beloved who have gone to their eternal home.
Merciful One, we ask that our loved ones find perfect peace
in Your tender embrace, their memory enduring as
inspiration for commitment to their ideals and integrity in
our lives. May their souls thus be bound up in the bond
of life.. May they rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.

And then my favorite poem or prayer which I read at Mother's Grave yesterday and will read it again today!
We Remember Them
At the rising of the sun and at its going down,
We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
We remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
We remember them.
At the shining of the sun and in the warmth of summer,
We remember them.

At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and at its end,
We remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live:
For they are now a part of us,
As we remember them.

When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember them.

When we have joy we crave to share,
We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
We remember them.

When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
We remember them.
When we fulfill their dreams, and our own,
We remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live:
For they are now a part of us,
As we remember them.

I think about you all of the time. Hope you are having a great Birthday Party for Mother today.
We all love and miss you so much.
Love, Gregory, Jill, Danny, Pam and Jimmy

August 3, 2008

Dear Mimi,
I hope you have a big Birthday Party planned for Mother tomorrow. This morning I am going to Church to light the candles like Mother did every year on her Birthday. Also bringing flowers for the alter. Holly and I are going to the cemetery to decorate her grave and then come back to my house for dinner and canasta with Pam, Jimmy and I. Tonight we will light A Yahrzeit candle for you.

God, I am to kindle the Yahrzeit light in memory of Mimi Dewoskin.
I am grateful for those who are alive this day and those whose souls are bound up in the bond of eternal life, those through whom my life has been enriched. I pray that I may demonstrate my gratefulness to them by acts of loving-kindness.
I give thanks for the years of life Mimi did enjoy, for the companionship shared with her, for her gifts of hand and heart and mind which helped bring others happiness, for these and more which will endure in the tenderness of memory and as a hallowing influence.
Help me, God, to make memory into blessing. While accepting the inevitability of death, and affirming the possibility of an afterlife, help me be inspired by the memory to live today and every day with greater compassion, honesty, consecrating purpose, and gratitude.
After the kindling one may say:

"-ronah liv-rachah."
"May her memory be for a blessing."

Pam, Jimmy and I miss you so much. Love, Pam ,Jimmy and Gregory
PS I will be out to visit you tomorrow!

64
John 11:1-54
There was someone ailing, Lazarus from Bethany,
from the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
And it was Mary who anointed the Lord with perfume
and wiped off his feet with her hair,
whose brother Lazarus was ailing.

So the sisters sent to him saying,
"Lord, look, the one you love is ailing."

And Jesus having heard said,
"This ailment is not for death but for the glory of God,
so that the son of God may be glorified by it."

And Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
So when he heard that he was ailing,
first he stayed in the place he was for two days;
then after this he says to the disciples,
"Let us go into Judea again."

The disciples say to him, "Rabbi,
the Jews were just trying to stone you,
and are you going back there again?"

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of day?
If someone walks by day, he does not stumble,
because he sees by the light of this world;
but if someone walks at night, he stumbles,
because there is no light in him."

He said these things, and after this he says to them,
"Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep;
but I am going so I may awaken him."

Therefore the disciples said to him, "Lord,
if he has fallen asleep, he will be saved."

But Jesus had spoken about his death;
and those thought that he was talking about ordinary sleep.
So then Jesus told them plainly, "Lazarus died,
and I am glad for your sake, so that you may believe,
that I was not there; but let us go to him."

Therefore Thomas,
who was called Didymus by his fellow disciples,
said, "Let us go also so that we may die with him."

So going Jesus found him
having already been in the tomb for four days.
And Bethany was near Jerusalem about fifteen stadiums away.
And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary,
so that they might console them about the brother.

So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming,
she went to meet him; but Mary sat in the house.
So Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here,
my brother would not have died.
Even now I know that whatever you ask of God,
God will give you."

Jesus says to her, "Your brother will rise up."

Martha says to him, "I know that he will rise up
in the resurrection on the last day."

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life;
whoever believes in me even though one dies one will live,
and all who live and believe in me never die;
do you believe this?"

She says to him, "Yes, Lord;
I have believed that you are the Christ,
the son of God, the one coming into the world."

And saying this she went away
and called her sister Mary secretly
saying, "The teacher is here and is calling you."
And when she heard, she rose quickly and went to him;
and Jesus had not yet come into the village,
but he was still in the place where Martha met him.

Therefore the Jews who were with her in the house
and consoling her,
seeing that Mary quickly got up and went out,
followed her, thinking that she was going to the tomb
so that she might weep there.

So when Mary came to where Jesus was,
seeing him she fell at his feet, saying to him, "Lord,
if you had been here, my brother would not have died."

So when Jesus saw her weeping
and the Jews coming with her weeping,
he was deeply moved in his spirit and troubled,
and he said, "Where have you put him?"

They say to him, "Lord, come and see."
Jesus wept.
Therefore the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

But some of them said, "Could not this one
who opened the eyes of the blind
make it so that this one also would not die?"

So Jesus again deeply moved within himself comes to the tomb;
and it was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
Jesus says, "Take away the stone."

Martha, the sister of the one who died, says to him,
"Lord, by now he will smell; for it is the fourth day."

Jesus says to her, "Did I not tell you
that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"

So they took away the stone.
And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said,
"Father, I thank you that you did hear me.
And I knew that you always do hear me;
however, because of the crowd standing around I said it,
so that they may believe that you sent me."

And having said this
he cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"
The one who had died came out,
his feet and hands bound with bandages,
and his face had been wrapped around with a handkerchief.
Jesus says to them, "Untie him and let him go."

Therefore many of the Jews, who had come to Mary
and had seen what he did, believed in him;
but some of them went away to the Pharisees
and told them what Jesus did.

So the high priests and the Pharisees assembled a council,
and said, "What do we do,
for this person performs many miracles?
If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him,
and the Romans will come
and will take both our place and the nation."

But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year,
said to them, "You don't know anything,
nor do you reason that it is better for us
that one person should die on behalf of the people
than that the whole nation should perish."

But he did not say this from himself,
but being high priest of that year he prophesied
that Jesus was about to die on behalf of the nation,
and not on behalf of the nation alone,
but also so that he might gather into one
the scattered children of God.

So from that day they plotted so that they might kill him.
Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews,
but he went away from there
to the country near the desert, to a town called Ephraim,
and there he stayed with the disciples.

Dear Mimi,

We were poised on the edge of a great retailing adventure together. I think God needed someone to help with the closets in heaven. I worked at the salon with Mimi for one year. She brought a presence with her that I will really miss. When I think of Mimi I think of smiles and laughter, and on days when she was not there something just didn't feel complete. She was a giving, kindhearted person and I feel priviledged to have known her. I am glad her spirit was one that passed through my life.

Dear Mimi, God sure must have needed you at this time to make him laugh and feel good about his world....he sure got the right gal, but he has left a big hole down here for us to try and understand. When the sun is out I will know it is your big smile warming us. You shared such a warmth with everyone, had a twinkle in your eye and were so easy to love...you will be missed by all you touched. My deepest sympathy to all your family and friends. And to you Gregory, she'll always be looking out for you!

Dearest Mimi,

I only had the pleasure of your company on a few occasions, (I wish now it had been more), but during those times I never laughed so much or so hard. You had such an ability to make someone feel instantly cared for. We all hope, that when we pass, from this place to the next, that we have left a positive effect on this life, and Mimi you certainly accomplished that. I will miss you!

MIMI,

The void of your everyday presence is still too harsh, the pain is still too deep. There is such an emptiness. You always said, " Did you ever think we would become such close and fast friends?"

We were as close as sisters. Phone calls early every morning and before retiring each night. We supported each other and looked out for one another. I was blessed to have such a dear friend.

I'll remember the joy, laughter and smiles we shared.

You were like a candle burning that lit up my life. I'll miss you and think of you at each sunrise and sunset and know that I have a special friend watching over me.

Friend forever,

Pam

Missing my dear friend of 25 years. I will remember Mimi as a generous, fun-loving and a sincere friend. Our wonderful times we had together as moms, jewelry business partners and most importantly as good friends will remain with me forever. I miss you Mimi!

My heartfelt prayers are with Megan and Sean along with the entire DeWoskin Family.

My DEAREST MIMI IT HAS BEEN ONE WEEK TODAY SINCE YOU STARTED YOUR NEW JOURNEY.

Remembering You

Your time on earth seemed all too brief

because I wanted you in my life forever.

And although I really miss you,

in my heart I know that you are at peace.

Still, countless times throughout the day

I find myself remembering you.

Although I cannot see or hear you,

I know that you are with me.

I'll feel you in the warmth of the summer sun.

I'll see you in the brilliance of autumn leaves.

You'll be beside me in the peacefulness of a gentle snowfall

and rejoice with me at the emergence

of the first flowers of spring.

I'm thankful for the times we shared

and the priceless memories too;

for those memories are a comfort now when I lovingly -

Remember You.

Mimi, we'll miss you. You were always there for everyone else. A shoulder to cry on, a cute joke or wise crack, words of support and encouragement you were there. You lived life to the fullest. We never ended a conversation without your cute chuckle, I'll miss you Mimi.

Greggie darling - I got to the website of her guest book pages 1 &2

but I didn't know how to write in it. It did not respond to any of my attempts. I will write here something and perhaps you

know how to add it to her book.

Dear Mimi - we had so much fun when you were in Arkansas with Greggie. It was the first time I met you and felt I had

found a friend and sister.

I am saddened, shocked and horrified that your beautiful

loving and vibrant life was so quickly extinguished. It is most

surely a dreadful loss to all who have loved you..

Wherever you are we hope you know you will live in our hearts

and memories till we meet again.

MiMi,

You left everyone too soon. I loved talking with you and seeing you have fun with the gang at the salon.

It is too hard to say "Goodbye". I'll just look for you another time.

I happened to be in St. Louis for two reunions when Gregory phoned me with this devastating news.

Mimi was a good friend and a dinner buddy and whenever I got back to St. Louis I knew I could always count on her for a get together for lots of fun and great conversations.

I had talked to her on the phone on Tuesday and so when I got the news of her untimely death it was difficult to believe.

To Mimi's immediate family I know you will miss your mom and I know that it will take time for you to accept her death as a part of God's plan.

God's ways are certainly not our ways, but I do know for a fact that Mimi is resting in the loving palm of His hand and she is no doubt talking his arm off!

She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

I have sent a donation to my High School, Notre Dame, in her name and the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Lemay will have her in their daily prayers at their daily Mass for a period of one calendar year for the repose of her soul.

God be with you and with all who loved Mimi for guidance and understanding and peace.

Sincerely Yours,

Marilyn (Buerk) Millberry

Dear Mimi,

I don't know what I am going to do without you. Every time the phone rings I think it is you. You are the best friend I have ever had. I could always count on you for anything. You were like a daughter to Adele and a sister to me. It seems like half of me is gone. I have only good memories now to keep you alive in my heart. We had the best of times. My life will not be the same without you. I love you so much. Gregory

As a tribute to Mimi, we wish to remember her generous heart and welcome smile. Special happy memories of our children at Rossman School, especially Aunt Mimi's Fort in her backyard.

A true friend and philosopher whose funny quips always kept the conversation warm and lively. In the early days of Plaza Frontenac, she was a legend, my consumate shopping buddy. We send our sympathies to the family and will always remember what made Mimi so special to us all.
