Peacefully at St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Westmorland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne on
May 6th, aged 88 years, Patrick James (Paddy), dear brother of Desmond, Sheila and the late John, brother in law of Helen and a very dear uncle. Requiem Mass at
St. Joseph's Nursing Home on Wednesday 17th May at 2.30pm followed by burial at Our Lady's Church, Washington Village.

Best philosophy lecturer ever at Durham University. Taught me formal logic and was sublime at it. But more than that, he was a genuinely kind and lovely man, who wanted me to succeed. Paddy - I have never forgotten your logic lectures from 1993-4 - I still use what I learn from you all the time, and will be forever grateful for your shaping of my ability to critically appraise and deconstruct arguments.
