Mr. Hugh Joseph Kavanagh, age 80, of Biloxi passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Ocean Springs. He was born on January 20, 1938 in London, England and immigrated with his family in 1950 from Ireland to New York City where he attended Machine and Metal Trades High School. After high school he moved to Biloxi and began work at Austin's Style Center and later at Peoples Bank. Hugh cherished his family, enjoying parties, holidays and the opportunity to spend time with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Anne Kavanagh; and his first wife, Mary Beaugez Kavanagh.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Kavanagh; children, Michael (Judy), Eddie, Danny (Colleen), Steve (Erin), Teresa, and Kevin (Lisa); grandchildren, Adam, Daniel (Sara), Hayley (Ryan), Kathryn, Jolie, Clare, Morgan, Hugh, Paul, Lily and Lucy; great-grandchildren, Aubree, Eleanor, Nolan and Sophie; and siblings, John (Brenda), Tom (Rosie) and Autie (Dick).
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Vincent de Paul, Nativity B.V.M., 872 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS 39530.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral at 11am on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Friends may visit from 10-11am. Reception to follow at the Sacred Heart Center.
