Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on April 5, 1944, the daughter of Wilbur Delaine (Peter) and Anne Elizabeth White Bickerstaff, Dess grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi. She valued her relationship with God, her love of family and the many friends she met and cherished over the years. Dess especially enjoyed dining with family and friends, and travel. Her passion for learning new things and gaining wisdom from the old never waned.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 11330 Woodstock Road, Roswell, Georgia, 30075 on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:30 A.M with Monsignor Peter Rau presiding and Deacon Michael Bickerstaff assisting.
