George Brian "Big George" Budz, 52, of Biloxi, MS passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Port Canaveral, FL.

Mr. Budz was born July 12, 1966 in Oak Lawn, IL. He attended Forrest Hill High School in MS and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1988 receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree in General Engineering and his MBA from Embry-Riddle University in 1994. Mr. Budz was an Eagle Scout and High School Chess Champion in 1984 and received many awards, some of which included the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the AETC Outstanding Contracting Civilian of the Year in 2010 along with several others. He was employed as Director of Business Operations with the 81st Contracting Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base from 2009 until his death. Mr. Budz retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He enjoyed golf, football, coaching soccer, baseball and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Budz was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Monier Budz; and his father, George W. Budz.

Mr. Budz's survivors include his mother and step-father, Jane and Dennis Ricker; his children, George P. Budz and Paul Q. Budz; his sister, Kimberly (Bruce) Nierenberg; his nephew, Austin Darby; his aunts, Sophie Kozlowski and Ann Migut; his brother-in-law, Patrick (Pam) Monier; numerous cousins and loved ones; and his dog, Liberty.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with Funeral Services on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 9:00 am all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
