Born in Tennessee on January 10, 1938 as Helen Catherine Finch, Miss Cathy came to Biloxi as a military spouse in 1960 and never looked back. She embraced the Mississippi Gulf Coast as her home and became an active member in her community.

She served our military service members for many years as Program Director of the local USO and then as a Recreation Center Director at Keesler AFB.

She loved the Arts and most especially loved Biloxi Little Theatre. An active member and tireless supporter of BLT for over 50 years, Cathy was an accomplished actress, set designer, fundraiser and director.

Miss Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Martha Finch; and one brother, Capt Mike Finch.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Cornelius Henry "Casey" VerBerkmoes; beloved children, Cornelius "Casey" (Amanda) VerBerkmoes, Jr., Lisa (Richard) Jones and Holly (Andy) Gross; beloved grandchildren, Larry O'Neill, Jeffrey H. (Jane) Oldham and Amy Catherine (Stephen) Greenwood; and her sister, Linda (Bob) Van Britson.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beauvoir United Methodist Church, 2113 Pass Rd, Biloxi, MS, on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:00 am.
