John Lewis was born January 7, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana, the son of John Lewis and Mary Storey. He received degrees in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was Chief Aviation Inspector for several aviation operations in Fort Lauderdale. He married Mary Lou Walden of Dania, FL, in 2005. Upon retirement, he enjoyed sailing around the Keys and Biscayne Bay. He is remembered by his family for his great sense of humor and positive outlook on life, despite recent setbacks in his health. Prior to his illness, he was an active parishioner of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hollywood. John is survived by his wife, Mary, his children, John (Mary) of Sebastian and MaryLynne of Key West, and his brother-in-law Paul Walden of Alexandria, VA, in addition to a number of cats.
