Lavezzoli, Peter John, 79, of Oakland Park, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 28th, 2018, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born October 22, 1938 in New York, New York to Silvio John (1907-1978) and Mary (Casella) Lavezzoli (1905-2003). At birth, the family resided at 3746 Olinville Avenue, Bronx NY. Peter John is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Paul Richard Lavezzoli (1944-1969), who died in combat in the Vietnam War as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army; and his grandson Shawn Peter (1999). Peter John is survived by daughter Christina Ann Lavezzoli; son Peter Davis Lavezzoli; four grandchildren (Paulina, Francesca, Gabriella, Daniella); one great-grandchild (Lilianna); and former spouse Lena Merlyn (Davis) Berman. In all cases, Peter was unanimously admired for his integrity, intelligence, and work ethic. Peter John loved music and the arts, and was a generous patron of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. He was one of Broward County's most consistent blood donors, having given blood regularly over the course of many years. He loved trains and the study of American railway history, and was an amateur guitarist and painter. Most of all, Peter John lived for his children and grandchildren in support of their goals and activities, and was an extremely devoted and loving father and grandfather.
