Richard Locke Obituary
After a very long battle with a debilitating disease, Richard succumbed on 6/5/2018. He was a member of MENSA, and wrote many poems and letters. As research director for the Washington state Republican State Central Committee, he introduced computerized voting lists. At the Batelle institute, he studied the effects of nerve gas. At Boeing, he helped with computerize engineering. He was a typist at the UN, traveled extensively around Europe, then lived on the Putamayos River in Columbia as part of Amazonia 2000. In Puerto Rico, he translated Spanish Poetry and ads into English. When he moved to Miami, he translated medical records for the Marielitos. He finally found a home in Fort Lauderdale, where he worked for the General Development Corporation. He loved his old house in the Riverbend area, and helped establish the historic district there. He was active in the gay community and had a loving, giving hand for the less fortunate.
