Martin, Ted, 84, of North Miami Beach,died August 14, 2006. Devoted & loving husband of 60 years to Lorraine; beloved father of Candy Korn (Robert), Melodye & Ken; adoring grandfather of Stephanie Craig (Mark), Michael, Julia, Kyle & Max; survived by his beloved brother, Bert Sheldon (Laney); beloved sister, Muriel Fuss (Howie); and his beloved dog, Chipper. Ted will be remembered as a loving, talented & funny Grandpa/Poppa Ted. He began his successful career playing with the Clyde Lucas Orchestra in the 40's, was the winner of the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts and sang on WMCA radio replacing Dean Martin and on WNEW. Ted sang, starred and entertained on TV & recordings, in night clubs and theaters. He was featured at the Copa Cabana in NY, appeared with such luminaries as Bob Hope, Jimmy Durante, Danny Thomas, Red Buttons, Donald O'Connor, Lucy Arnaz, Phyllis Diller, Hal Linden, Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, and Myron Cohen. Ted Martin Orchestras were featured at the finest society charity balls and country clubs in South Florida. Ted was a long term President of the Footlighters Organization. His sentimental journey ended in the Bronx where he grew up. He will be missed by ALL. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 18th at 12:00 noon at Levitt-Weinstein Funeral Home/Beth David Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
