Virdie Mae (Tingle) Tarr Obituary
Virdie Mae Tingle Tarr 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Virdie was born in Hardy, Ky., the daughter of the late Lewis and Elzie (Stollings) Smith. She was a supervisor with Arrow Safety Device in Georgetown for over 50 years, retiring in 2006. Virdie was an active member of Grace U.M. Church in Georgetown and was involved with the Willing Strivers. She was also a member of American Legion Post 8 Ladies Auxiliary.

Virdie loved the beach, the Baltimore Orioles and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She especially enjoyed family activities and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Granville L. Tingle, in 1963; five brothers and two sisters.
Virdie is survived by two children, Pam Harper and husband Randy, and Phillip Tingle and wife Patsy; three grandchildren, Mark Harper, Jill Green and Jerry, and Kristy Conaway and K.C.; five great grandchildren, Keelie and Kaylin Conaway, Jerry, Jordan and Jayce Green; and a sister, Emily Dix.

A funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 21, with burial in Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Del 19963.
