Lena Delaine Bailey, age 70, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Carter Edmondson officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at McCoy Funeral Home. Delaine was born January 22, 1947 in Sweetwater. She was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater. Delaine married Jimmy Lee Bailey on November 23, 1970 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She worked at Sweetwater Machine and Welding since 1981. She was a member of Bethel Assembly. Delaine was an avid cooker and enjoyed competing in cookoffs. Survivors include Sons Jimmy Don Bailey and wife Danielle of Sweetwater, David Bailey and wife Barbara of Snyder, Britt Smith and wife Julie of Apache, Oklahoma; Daughters Gala Martin and husband Jay of Sweetwater, Karen Reeves and husband Adam of Merkel; Brother George Williams, Jr. and wife Diane of Sunset, Texas; Sisters Kim LaRue of Sweetwater, Marla Story and husband Boyce of Houston, Arkansas; Fourteen Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lee Bailey on March 1, 2015, father George A. Williams, Sr. on August 10, 1994, mother Lena Monell (Allen) Humphrey on April 4, 1993, and grandsons Nicholas Walker and Brody Bailey. Pallbearers will be Dwalyn Smith, Josh LaRue, Brandon Sutton, Tony Smith, Tom Oliver and Kevin Watson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Porter and Jacob Bailey. So sorry to find out that Delaine had passed away. Mom and I had seen the death notice in the Abilene Reporter News but never saw a write up.... I finally looked on the internet for Sweetwater Newspaper and read that the funeral was Wednesday, March 1st.....
Mom and I pray that the family will have comfort and peace in the days ahead.....
