Adela "Mami" (Cisneros) Villanueva Obituary
Adela C. Villanueva 88, of Sweetwater passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at her residence. Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 4, 2017 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Adela "Mami" was born on December 16, 1928 in Bastrop, TX to Damacio and Petra Cisneros. "Mami" was a homemaker and she loved to sew and cook. She was a devout Catholic and reciting the rosary daily was her passion. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She made many friends young and old and acquired her nickname "Mami" by all who came in contact with her. She worked at Walls Mfg for many years and also with Betty Patton until she retired. As her health declined due to Parkinsons her loving and caring daughter Anita Strahan became her caretaker. Of whom we are eternally grateful. Adela is survived by her daughters Luisa Rodriguez and husband Henry; Margaret Torres and husband Martin; Anita Strahan; sons Paul Villanueva and wife Barbara; James Villanueva and wife Stacy; along with ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; brother Santiago Cisneros and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Pablo D. Villanueva; her parents; two brothers; five sisters and her son in law. Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great grandchildren Adrien Strahan, Enrique Rodriguez, Marc Villanueva, Damien Strahan, Erik Torres and Edward Villanueva. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Albarado, Vincent Strahan, Jimmy Strahan, Jeremiah Valdez, Justin Rodriguez and James Villanueva. Our thanks and gratitude to all her family and friends who visited her and her doctor, nurses, hospice nurses and aides for their special care. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mccoyfh.com.
