Arlon Wayne "Arlo" Orman Jr. Obituary
ROSCOE - Funeral services for Arlon Wayne "Arlo" Orman, Jr., 86, of Roscoe, will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Reverend David Draper officiating. Military graveside services will follow at the Roscoe Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Orman died Friday, June 19, 2015 at his home. He was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Beeville. He married Janelle Faust on Oct. 12, 1950 in Roscoe. Arlo lived in Roscoe most of his life, was a graduate of Roscoe High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Roscoe. He was a farmer and farmed in Nolan County for at least 62 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a past member of the Roscoe Lions Club, an avid domino player, loved to tell jokes and was one who never met a stranger. Arlon loved all of his family very much and his church, never missing Sunday school in over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Janelle Orman of Roscoe; children, Janice Stuart of Sweetwater, Lonnie Orman of Roscoe and Arlene Hartman of Sweetwater; six grandchildren, Tammy Stracener of Sweetwater, Dustin Orman of Roscoe, Christianson Hartman of Roscoe, Angela Stuart of Sweetwater, Eden Baker of Roscoe and Landon Orman of Roscoe; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Freeman, Justin Gardner, Kolby Evans, Jacie Baker, Elyn Baker, Charlie Arlon Hartman and Scarlett Hartman.
Arlon was preceded in death by his parents, Arlon, Sr. and Grace Kate (Duncan) Orman; a brother, Floyd Orman; and several uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
