Bettye Jo May Obituary
A graveside service for Bettye Jo May, 84, of Sweetwater, will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Jerry Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
A memorial service will then be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 2, 2015 at McCoy Funeral Home, located at 401 E. Third Street in Sweetwater.
She died on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1930 in Sweetwater. She married George Walter "Bill" May on Oct. 18, 1951 in Sweetwater.
Bettye was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater. She was a graduate of Sweetwater Newman High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union. She was also a member of the Porcelain Art Club, the Study Book Club, and the Sorosis Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Caye May Davis and husband Paul of Hudson Oaks, Texas; son, Walt May and wife Kerri of Sweetwater; one granddaughter, Anne Marie May of Sweetwater; five grandsons, Brandon Kyle Kuss and wife Kim of Sweetwater, Whitley May and wife Sharla of Sweetwater, Nathan Craig Davis of Norfolk, Virginia, Bryan Tyler Davis of Hudson Oaks, Texas, and Max Mueller May of Lubbock; two great-grandsons, Weston May and Brooks May, both of Sweetwater; and one great-granddaughter, Allison Acebedo of Roscoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill May, on June 26, 2011.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Brandon Kuss, Bryan Davis, Nathan Davis, Whitley May, Anne Marie May and Max May.
