Bill Griffith Obituary
Trent - Bill Griffith, 58, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in an Odessa hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the Trent First Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Bill was born June 15, 1956 in Hamlin to John and Ida (Carter) Griffith. He graduated from Trent High School in 1974 and attended Angelo State University. He married Sherry Clem July 1, 1978. Bill was a member of the Trent First Baptist Church and had served on the Trent ISD School Board. He worked for Lockheed-Martin from the mid 1980's until its closing and was self-employed for many years at Griffith Air Conditioning and Heating. He was currently working for Burton Controls in Midland and Odessa. Bill received the order of the arrow and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He also coached Little League in Abilene. He loved to cook and barbecue.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Griffith of Trent; sons, Josh Griffith and fiancee' Julie of Seattle, Wash. and Jeremy Griffith of Trent; parents, John and Ida Griffith of Sweetwater; sisters, Brenda Browning and husband Bo of Sweetwater and Saundra Rivers and husband Kevin of Roby; grandson, Ryan Griffith of Merkel; and several nieces and nephews.
