Billy Don Fraley Obituary
Billy Don Fraley (Bill) passed away April 23, 2016, following a brief illness.
Born July 25, 1930, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Bill graduated from both Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater, Texas, and Texas Christian University. He served his country as an artillery officer with the U.S. Army. He spent more than 60 years working in the oil and gas services industry, most recently with Maverick Oilfield Services in Spring, Texas.
Bill was an avid gun collector and target shooting enthusiast. He also enjoyed offshore fishing and took up skydiving in his later years. He enjoyed war movies, reading about American history and leaders, and eating spicy foods.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Kathryn White Fraley. Other survivors include daughters Kaye Reid of Austin; Sheryl Hewett and her husband, Jim, of Livingston; and Cindy Fraley of Spring; as well as a son, Scott, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Waco. Also surviving are brother, Pat, and his wife, Marianne, of Dallas; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, G.D., and mother, Noma, of Sweetwater, as well as a brother, Ronald.
In accordance with his wishes, no service will be held. His ashes will be scattered in the Gulf in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Coastal Conservation Association Texas, in his name.
