Ms. Bobbie Jean Chance, 83, answered God's call on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side.
Funeral services for Bobbie Jean will be on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Reverend Tommie Jackson will be officiating services. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
She was born January 5, 1938 in Marshall, Texas to the late Maurice J. Chance, Sr., and the late Birdie Chance. She attended public school in Marshall before moving to Abilene in 1952, where she continued her education at Woodson High School.
Bobbie married the late Mr. Vuree Williams, Sr. and to this union three children were born – namely – Timmy, Yolanda (deceased), and Vuree, Jr.
Bobbie later married the late Manuel Rodriquez. There were no children born to this union.
Bobbie accepted Christ at an early age. She served in Macedonia Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church. After moving to Sweetwater she joined the Mt. Rose Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health failed. She was faithfully involved in various church activities. She was a prayer warrior and served in the Mission as well as her love, the choir. She was a gifted singer, singing in the choir and also a group.
Bobbie was proceeded in death by her beloved parents, Mr. Maurice Chance Sr. and Mrs. Birdie Chance, sibling, Frances Chance and daughter, Yolanda Kay Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memories, beloved sons, Vuree Williams Jr.; Timmy Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; sibling; Maurice J. Chance, Jr.(Shirley) of La Marque, Texas. Devoted Daughter-in-law, Tina Williams. Grand Children: Brian Hill, Stephanie Hill, Selena Bolden, Wendy Planty, Jennifer Wagoner, Devin Williams.
