Brenda Gene (Diddle) Durrett Obituary
Funeral services for Brenda Gene Diddle Durrett, 69, of Dallas, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Mike Crowley officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 E. Third Street in Sweetwater.
Durrett died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano. She was born Nov. 6, 1945 in Sweetwater. She married Bobby Elza Durrett on April 4, 1969 in Lubbock. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and attended Draughns Business College for two years. Growing up in Sweetwater, Durrett lived in Lubbock several years and then in Dallas the past 28 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby ""Sonny"" Durrett of Dallas; daughter, Rena Lynn Durrett of Dallas; brother, Craig Diddle and Tammy Haley of Sweetwater; sister: Celia Gaither and husband Robbie of Lubbock; and grandson, Logan Durrett of Dallas.
Brenda was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Durrett in August 1996; (twins) brother and sister; Jessee Ray Diddle and Johnie Mae Diddle in December 1954; her father, Orren ""Gene"" Diddle on Feb. 27, 1997; and her mother Billie Nell Jessee Diddle on May 5, 2014.
Pallbearers will be Will Gober, Mark Sheets, Dale Sheets, David Boyd, Grant Sanduskey, Acey Hurn, Chris Soules and Ray Cornutt.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Anton Kubacak and Ronnie Linebaugh.
