Carlos L. Salazar Obituary
Services for Carlos L. Salazar, 68, of Sweetwater, will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Juan Antonio Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation was held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, with a prayer service held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Salazar died on Friday, May 13, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on May 25, 1947 in Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Elvira Dozal on January 3, 1966 in Guadalupe, Mexico.
He had lived in Sweetwater for 48 years. He worked as a Machine Operator at PCCA Cotton Compress here in Sweetwater. He was always telling jokes and loved music listening to the Beatles and playing his guitar and singing. He was an outdoors man and he loved working in his yard and on his cars.
Survivors include his wife, Elvira Salazar of Sweetwater; children, Herman Salazar of C.D. Acuna, Mexico, Veronica Salazar Isaguirre and husband Joe of Plainview, TX, Adriana Salazar Gallegos and husband Luis "Carlos" of Plainview, TX, Imelda Limones and husband Joe of Sweetwater, Erica Caballero and husband Angel of Sweetwater, Carlos Salazar, Jr. and Mayra Garcia of Sweetwater; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Salgado, Araceli Cano, Patricia Rioz; and brothers, Abraham Salazar, Heriberto Salazar, and Abel Salazar.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Julia Rosas and Martha Martinez; and his parents, Lorenzo and Eusebia Salazar.
Pallbearers will be Joe R. Limones, Mark Anthony Limones, Nicholas Limones, Jared Andrew Garcia, Angel Caballero, Jr. and Avery Christian Gallegos.
Honorary pallbearers are Josue Salazar, Ricardo Salazar, Reynaldo Dominguez, Sammy Salgado and Robert Nunez.
