Cruz (Meneses) Ybarra Obituary
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Cruz Meneses Ybarra, 92, of Hallsville and formerly of Sweetwater, will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Church (Immaculate Heart of Mary) with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. A Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Dan McCormick.
Ybarra died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in Hallsville. She was born May 3, 1923, in Sweetwater. She married Pete M. Ybarra in 1940 in Sweetwater. Cruz was born and raised in Sweetwater, but has lived in Hallsville the past 10 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dan McCormick. She liked to sew and plan. Cruz loved flowers and dancing. She had a big sense of humor and was loved by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her three daughters, Rachael Lopez of Fort Worth, Linda McCormick and husband Dan of Hallsville and Maggie Faglie and husband Todd of Fort Worth; son, George Ybarra and wife Helen of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete M. Ybarra on Nov. 4, 1995; son, Johnny Ybarra; and grandsons, Adam Lopez, Jr. and Keone Ybarra.
Pallbearers will be Raul Medina, Jr., Brandon Medina, Mark Meneses, Joseph Argumaniz, Rudy Sanchez and Andrew Lopez.
