Doris Ann Terry Obituary
Graveside services for Doris Ann Terry, 80, of Houston, will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater with Rev. Brian Brownlow officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Terry died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Houston. She was born July 1, 1935 in Paris, TX. She married James R. Terry in 1967 in Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater. She lived in Sweetwater from 1971 until moving to Houston in 1992. While living in Sweetwater, she was a teacher for Sweetwater ISD from 1985 until 1992. She also taught school in Houston from 1992 until her retirement in 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Emily Terry of Houston and Lucy Berryman and husband Jim of Canton, Penn.; son, John Terry and wife Rebecca of San Antonio; two brothers, John Woody, Jr. and wife Myrna of Houston and Bruce Woody of Farmers Branch; one granddaughter, Mariana Terry of Houston; and two grandsons, Aaron Madden of Greenville, S.C. and Aiden Madden of Canton, Penn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. Woody, Sr. and Doris (Petty) Woody, both on February 25, 1971.
