Emma Mae Light Obituary
Emma Mae Light, 91, of Monett, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Friday, July 17, 2015 at her home in Monett. She was born on Feb. 3, 1924 in Behouse, the daughter of the late Charles and Aurdrie (Smith) Manning. She was united in marriage on May 30, 1942 in Snyder to Leroy Light; he survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church on Stone's Prairie in Purdy, Mo., Helping Hands and the Church Ladies Aide.
Emma is survived by her husband Leroy of the home; two sons, Charles Light and his wife Beverly of Springfield, Mo., and Terry Light of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Dr. Kathye Light of Gainesville, Ga., Linda Light of Livingston and Brenda Light of Pierce City; one brother, Charles Manning, Jr. of Odessa; two sisters, Alma Posey of Snyder and Birdie Hornsberger of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Charles and Audrie.
Visitation for Emma was held on Monday July 20, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church on Stone's Prairie near Purdy, Missouri. Burial will follow services at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery next to the church.
Memorial donations for Emma may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church on Stone's Prairie Cemetery Fund.
