Georgianne (Flores) Hutchison Obituary
Georgianne Flores Hutchison, 92, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 in Sweetwater. 
Graveside services will be on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Byron Potter officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Georgianne was born on June 7, 1923, in Hampshire, Wyoming to Roscoe and Cora Etchison Flores. She was valedictorian of Torrington High School in Torrington, Wyoming. Georgianne received her Bachlor of Science Degree in Home Economics, Magda cum laude (first in her class) from the University of Wyoming. She taught home economics, art and other subjects for 25 years.  She taught two years in Lander, Wyoming and 23 years in Spearman, retiring in 1990.
She received numerous awards including High School National Honor Society, membership in Phi Upsilon Omicron (college honorary), Phi Kappa Phi (college honorary), Hansford County Texas Conservation Woman of the Year, 10 year 4-H member and 10 year 4-H leader.
Georgianne and Dwight E. Hutchison were married on Aug. 8, 1948. She was always proud of her Spanish ancestry - who came to Texas 124 years before it was a state. Her namesake was the first woman buried in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. She was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Spearman, past president of Business Woman's Association, Alpha Delta Kappa, 20th Centery Club. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dwight Hutchison in 1986.
She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca and husband, David Duncan of Roscoe, Cynthia Sullivan of Hewitt and Gina Rodgers and husband, Jim of Bonnylake, Wash. She is also survived by a brother, Delbert Flores of Torrington, WY; five grandchildren, Ben Sullivan, Jim Sullivan and wife Kim, Karsten Duncan and Katherine Duncan; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Robbie and Cameron Sullivan.
