Hazel Leola Neves Obituary
Funeral services for Hazel Leola Neves, 89, of Snyder and formerly of Roscoe, will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Rev. David Draper officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under he direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East Third in Sweetwater.
Neves died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Snyder Healthcare Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Clarksville, Texas. She married Kenneth C. (Bill) Neves on Aug. 21, 1941 in DeKalb. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roscoe. She had lived in Roscoe since 1957 and in Snyder the past five years. She was a member of the Sweetwater V.F.W. and Roscoe American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries for 50 years plus and had done volunteer work at Roscoe Nursing Home for several years. She was a seamstress for Walls Industries for several years and a homemaker.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Thomas of The Woodlands; two sons, Ernest (Ernie) Neves of Burkett and Norman Neves of Snyder; brother, Maxie Lincecum of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. "Bill" Neves on July 15, 1987; a son, Kenneth Jay Neves in 1969; and her parents, Ora and Eula Lincecum.
Pallbearers will be Lance Neves, Laura Neves, Russell Cordell, grandsons and great-grandsons.
