He was born August 22, 1922 at the Cuthbert Community in Mitchell County, Texas. He was a 1942 graduate of Colorado City High School where he was a stand out member of the Championship Wolves football teams from 1938 to 1941. In retirement, he and Betty loved to spend time in the spring until fall at her folks farm in Osage, Arkansas. Her parents were the late Dick and Gertie Glover of Colorado City. He was a member of the local RV "Good Sams" club. He loved to go dancing and listen to Bob Wills and all Western Swing Music and especially his friends, the late Hoyle Nix and his son Jody from Big Spring.
