Isidro "Sid" Reyes Obituary
Isidro "Sid" Reyes, 68, of Merkel, Formerly of Sweetwater, TX passed away at his residence Sunday, June 18, 2017. A Memorial Service will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. A Rosary-visitation will be at 7 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Sid was born May 15, 1949 in Roscoe, Texas to Mariano and Guadalupe Reyes. He graduated from Highland High School in 1968. He was a Veteran of Vietnam serving in the U. S. Navy. Sid worked in Law Enforcement for over thirty-five years. He spent most of his years working for the Nolan County Sheriff's Department. He spent a short time with the Jones County Sheriff's Department, and Hardin Simmons University Security Police and then to the Merkel Police Department where he retired two years ago. He also worked and retired from Lone Star Cement. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sweetwater. Sid will be remembered to many of us for his passion for Cars, Car Shows, Guns, and Law Enforcement.
He is survived by his son; John Ryan Reyes & wife Stephanie of Forney, TX, four brothers; Ascension Reyes & wife Janie of Burkburnett, TX, Ruben Reyes & wife Vicki of Canton, TX, Bobby Joe Reyes and wife Mary of Colorado City, TX, Raymond Reyes & wife Diana of Monahans, TX, three sisters; Louisa Jacques & husband Daniel of Sweetwater, TX, Christine Carmona of Houston, TX and Mary Reyes of Abilene, TX, two Grandchildren; Kylie and Kade Reyes both of Forney, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fallen Police Officers Association and or the Merkel Car Club.
