Jack Turner May Obituary
Jack Turner May, 78, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Nolan Nursing & Rehab in Sweetwater. Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Rev. David Draper officiating. Interment will be in the Roscoe Cemetery directed by McCoy Funeral Home. A family visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Jack was born to Turner and Juanita (Haddock) May on July 23, 1939 in Roscoe, Texas. He graduated from Roscoe High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. He married Marjorie Beth Hastings October 22, 1960 in Abilene, Texas. They moved to Alvin Texas in 1961 where he worked for the Monsanto Chemical Company fifteen years. In 1976 Jack returned to Roscoe where he farmed and ranched until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was very active in the Roscoe Lion's Club. Jack is survived by his wife Beth of Roscoe, Texas, a son Dr. Randy May and wife Vickie of Sweetwater, Texas, a daughter Dr. Gayla May Maher and husband Dr. Lawrence Maher III of Clear Lake, Texas, a sister Carol Smith and husband Max of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Jodie May of Sweetwater, Lawrence Maher IV of Clear Lake, Stephen May of Sweetwater, Jacqueline Maher of Clear Lake, and Wyatt Maher of Clear Lake, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Turner and Juanita May in 1992 and 1994. Pallbearers will be Stephen May, Lawrence Maher IV, Wyatt Maher, Greg Althof, Ruben Sylva and Brent Loflin.
