Jackie Woner Obituary
Jackie Woner, age 90, of San Angelo, passed away June 30, 2016 at Cedar Manor Nursing Center in San Angelo, Texas.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with Ricky Hopper officiating. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jackie was born May 9, 1926 at Bartlett, Texas. She married Francis Woner December 5, 1947 in Sweetwater. She and Francis moved to San Angelo from Cloud Croft, New Mexico about eight years ago.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Francis Woner of San Angelo, son, Frank Woner and wife Marien of San Angelo; granddaughter, Cheyenne Barden and husband Jim of San Angelo; grandsons, Cody Dunn and wife Jessica of Wolforth, Texas and Brian Woner and wife Sadie of Miles, Texas; great grandchildren (love of her life) Trevor Dunn, Chloe Dunn, Mia Winters, Weston Winters and Wyatt Woner. She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Freeman, Frances Marie Constance and Jeane Burnett.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Mae Stone Jenkins in 1950, and Theopolis France Jenkins in 1942; her son, Johnny Woner; brothers, Conrad Ray Jenkins, and T.F. Jenkins, Jr. in 2001; and sisters, Maime Baugh in 1964 and Peggy Jarvis in 1998.
Jackie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an award winning artist, and an accredited florist and was an organizer according to her sisters. She was an avid Bridge and Duplicate Bridge player. She loved living in Cloud Croft, New Mexico and loved being a Snowbird. She enjoyed all the people there and never met a stranger as she worked at the Turquoise Shop. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to her.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Hopper, Don Ray Hays, Cody Dunn, Brian Woner, Trevor Dunn, Weston Winters, Wyatt Woner, Gary Don Sharp, Korky Wise, Gerome Black and Richard Mitchell.
