James C. Fullwood Obituary
James C. Fullwood was born in Sweetwater, TX on November 25, 1938 and passed from this life on April 18, 2017 in Abilene, Texas after a brief illness.
Graveside Services will be April 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
He graduated from Newman High School in 1956 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross University in Alpine, TX and his Masters of Education from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M at Commerce, TX. He worked as an Engineer for the Texas Highway Department for 15 years before beginning his teaching career in 1972 at Sweetwater High School, where he taught until his retirement in 1993. After retiring from education, he enjoyed working in real estate and the auction business while he continued to grow his farming and ranching enterprise. Most of all he loved his kids and grandsons, and especially loved working with and teaching his grandsons about farming and ranching. He enjoyed golf and the comradery with his golf buddies.
He is survived by his daughter Jamie Fullwood-Easley and her husband Jason Easley of Grapevine, TX and his son Danny Fullwood, his wife Dawna of Roscoe, TX and their sons Tait McCoy and Ty Blaine and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Tait Fullwood, his father Wilson Robert Fullwood and his sisters, Marjorie Ann Tollison, Merle Frazier, and Shirley Faye Pendergrass.
