James Richard Terry Obituary
Graveside services for James Richard Terry, 80, of Houston, formerly of Sweetwater, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Strebeck officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening, August 28, 2016 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Terry died on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Houston.
He was born on April 1, 1936 in Miami, Florida. He married Doris Ann Woody on November 19, 1967 in Miami, Florida.
He was a member of Cypress Trail United Methodist Church in Houston (1992 to 2016) and a former member of First United Methodist in Sweetwater (1971 to 1992). James served his country in U.S. Army Reserves. Before his retirement, James was an American National Insurance Agent for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will always remember his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his two daughters, Emily Terry & husband Juan Padron of Spring, TX, and Lucy Berryman & husband Jim of Harrisburg, PA; a son, John Terry & wife Rebecca of San Antonio; one brother, Royall P. Terry, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; one grandgaughter, Marian Terry of Houston; and two grandsons, Arron Madden of Greenville, SC, and Aiden Madden of Harrisburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Terry, on March 22, 2016; a brother, John Robert Terry; and his parents, Royall P. Terry, Sr. and Sarah Emily (Symmes) Terry.
