Jane Elizabeth "Betsy" (Beall) Howe Obituary
Jane Elizabeth 'Betsy' Beall Howe
Jane Elizabeth 'Betsy' Beall Howe, 53, was a loving mother, daughter and friend. She entered her heavenly home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her residence in Sweetwater.
There will be a family visitation Sunday, May 6, from 5 to 7 PM at McCoy funeral home and a memorial service will be held Monday, May 7, 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian church under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Betsy was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 30, 1965 to George and Patricia Beall. She lived her life to the fullest. At an early age, Betsy attended and excelled in tap, ballet, jazz and ballroom dancing at the Dorothy Brandt Studio. Her favorite place 'in the world' was Camp Waldemar in Hunt, Tx, where she spent seven summers and later became a camp counselor for several years. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in the Class of '83. After graduation she attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and became an avid life-long Red Raider Fan who regularly attended games and events. She later transferred to ACU in Abilene, Tx, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. During her teaching career she taught 4th, 5th grade and physical education and soon discovered her love of coaching the jump rope team. When Betsy made a friend, she kept them for life and was referred to as the "glue" that kept old friends together. Betsy's greatest gift was 'behind the lens' of a camera. This is where she came alive. Her specialty was action shots. She had a way of capturing athletes at their best. Her legacy will live on through these photographs. The true loves of her life were her children Elizabeth Brooke Howe, 22 , of Ft. Worth, Tx, and Grant Patrick Howe, 18, of Arlington, Tx.
Betsy is survived by her children and their father, Gary Paul Howe of Arlington, Tx; her mother, Patricia Browning Beall and and fiancé Tom Cheney of Sweetwater; her brother, Dent Browning Beall of Houston, Tx.; her beloved dogs Poof and George; her Emmaus Reunion Group, the Divine Sisters; and a multitude of friends. What a glorious celebration as Betsy was welcomed home by her heavenly father and by her earthly father, George Dent Beall, Jr. She was definitely a daddy's girl. We can only imagine this grand reunion!
She is preceded in death by her father, her grandparents George Dent Beall, Sr. and Rozelle Brand Beall; William Edward Browning, Jr. and Meadors Nelson Browning. In honor of Betsy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church or . God has her in His arms, we have her in our hearts. Rest in peace, Betsy.
