Jessie Lee Webb Mason, 91, of Sweetwater, passed away Jan. 30, 2016 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Funeral services for Jessie Lee will be Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Reverend Robert Carey will be officiating services. There will be a family visitation on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at mccoyfh.com.
The journey of life took Jessie Webb Mason through transitions, much like the seasons of the year. She experienced the miracle of birth, the freedom of childhood, a time to realize her adulthood dreams and the joy of living a fulfilled life and at peace with herself and her Creator.
Jessie Lee Webb Mason was born in Wilmar, Ark. on Nov. 17, 1924, to William and Emma Jackson Webb. Jessie Lee was the fifteenth of fifteen children. She was the last living child of the Webb/Jackson children.
In 1945, Jessie Lee moved to Sweetwater. She worked at Pace Packing Company for a number of years. She went back to school and became a License Vocational Nurse and worked at several place as an L.V.N., before her health began to fail.
Jessie Lee loved birds and raised them for a number of years. She also loved cats and every morning, got up to feed the cats even when she didn't feel well.
Jessie Lee leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Ivory Taylor and wife Regina and Danny aka "Lobo" Johnson and fiancee Chanell; and one daughter, Sandra Bender, all of Sweetwater; step son, TJ Rogers of Corpus Christie; step daughter, Diana Nash of Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Timothy Taylor and Darrian T. Taylor, both of Amarillo, Kioki Idiris Taylor of Sweetwater, Chris Taylor of Lubbock, Rahfieki Williams of Midland, Akeeme Kintay Bender of Sweetwater, Londyn Dann'yell Johnson of Sweetwater, Kenneth Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif., Dejai Johnson of Oakland, Calif. and Donta Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev.
She had a host of great and great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Collins, Junior Hunt, Quincy Garrett, Charles Walker, James McCoy and Zelmo Bell.
