Jo Ann (Hancock) Deer Obituary
Jo Ann (Hancock) Deer peacefully went to be with The Lord at her home in Midland, Texas early on Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017.
Jo Ann was born in Gregg County in East Texas on September 8, 1929. She was the daughter of Joseph and Bennie Hancock of Longview, Texas. She was a graduate of Kilgore College. Jo Ann married the love of her life, Charles William (Bill) Deer on May 13, 1952. They made their home in Sweetwater where she was active in the community, an avid tennis player and a very talented artist. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on November 24, 1984, and relocated to Midland in 2010. Jo is survived by her sister, Judy Palermo of Denton, Texas and sons Mark and wife Lana Deer of Midland and Andy and wife Lisa Deer of North Richland Hills, Texas and grandchildren Joshua, Jessica, Jonah and Blake.
Friends are invited to pay their respects at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Longview at 12 noon on Friday, May 12th . I
