After working in business for several years Kathleen was employed by Texas State Technical College where she retired as Vice President of Student Learning and Development. The TSTC community was part of Kathleen and James' family. After retirement Kathleen and James moved to Chattanooga Tennessee to be near her brother, his wife and her nieces and great niece Gaby and great nephews Christopher and Graysen. Kathleen and James enjoyed travelling and RV camping. Her love of western art and culture could be seen in her home, which was a welcoming place to gather and enjoy good company and good food. Most of all, Kathleen was a caregiver, having spent most of her life taking care of the people around her. She signed most cards "Love Ya Big" and she did just that. Survivors include Her husband James Butler, brother, Jacky Preslar and his wife Nancy, her nieces Kelly Garcia and her husband Marcos Garcia and Thuy Myers and her husband Thad Myers, lovingly remember Kathleen. Her stepdaughter Jennifer Dominguez Morgan and her family and stepson Robert Butler also remember her with love. Other family include Paul Burns her stepfather and a large extended family including stepbrothers and sister, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many others. Her parents, Howard Preslar and Joan Burns, predecease Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Texas State Technical College Foundation.
