Graveside services for Kenneth Ray Acorn, Sr., 61, of Lubbock, formerly of Rotan, will be at 10 a.m on Wednesday, August 8, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Robert Carey officiating. Interment will follow at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Acorn died on Monday, August 1, 2016 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on November 6, 1954 in Rotan. He married Annette Williams on January 7, 1982 in Austin.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was an automotive detailer.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Acorn of Sweetwater; mother, Ernistine Acorn of Bryan College Station; three daughters, Octabia Acorn of Rotan, Tavia Williams of Sweetwater, and Jamika Eddington of Lubbock; three sons, Akeem Bender of Amarillo, Kenneth Ray Acorn II of Lubbock, and Eaon Christopher Acorn of Lubbock; two sisters, Patricia Acorn of Bryan, and Yolonda Richardson & husband Ira of Bryan; three brothers, Timothy Acorn of Houston, Fred Acorn of Austin, and Terry Acorn & wife Janesha of Bryan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lowell & Erma Williams of Sweetwater; aunt, Mama Dear Hughes of Lubbock; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
