Lus Villareal Alaniz, 95, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Abilene Regional Hospital. Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Lus will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will be in the Hermleigh Cemetery directed by McCoy Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening, July 17, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. in McCoy Chapel of Memories. Lus was born in Navasota, Texas to parents Miguel and Petra Villarreal. She resided in Hermleigh and Sweetwater area since 1967. She married Antonio Alaniz on January 27, 1951 in Bryan, Texas. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker. Lus was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish and a member of the Guadalupana Society. She was known for being a strong and caring woman, who everyone loved once they met her. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom in return loved and admired her. In the small town of Hermleigh, Texas, she was the first Hispanic parent to be involved in Parent Teacher organization and continued her work in Sweetwater. She loved quilting and crocheting. Survivors include a Son: Andrew Alaniz and wife Elsa of San Antonio, TX, a Son: Albert Alaniz of Sweetwater, a Son: Daniel Alaniz and wife Delia of Lubbock, TX, a Daughter: Rosa Dominguez of Dallas, TX, nine Grandchildren, and ten Great-Grandchildren and countless friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband: Antonio Alaniz, parents: Miguel and Petra Villarreal, and nine brothers. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: Matthew Alaniz, Edward Moreno, Paul Alaniz, Zachery Dominguez, Jonathon Alaniz, Eugene Michael Dominguez.
