Mary Ann Turner Obituary
Services for Mary Ann Turner, 76, of Sylvester, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2105 at Trent First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Newman Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East Third Street, Sweetwater, TX 79556.
Turner died on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1938 in Palestine, Texas. She married Willie Jim Turner on Sept. 19, 1959 in Sundown, Texas.
Mary Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in Trent where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. She loved cooking for everyone and all was invited to eat at her table. As long as her health permitted, she made Christmas ornaments every year for her nieces and nephews. She always volunteered her work for A.A.R.P. Tax returns. We will have all eternity to make memories with her because she saw her family knew the Lord. She was well loved and loved well.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Jim Turner of Sylvester; three daughters, Patricia Rawls of Sundown, Mazzie Ann Middleton and husband Paul of Lubbock and Linda Sue Hensley and husband Scott of Rule; three sisters, Vera O'Dell of Sundown, Barbara Nugent of Kerrville and Pat Shults and husband Olen of Collinsville, Okla.; two brothers, Gene Nugent and wife Elnora of Sundown and Jimmy Dann Nugent and wife Reba of Kerrville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Eugene and Mazzie Magdalene (Reeves) Nugent; and two brothers, R.G. Nugent and Marion Nugent.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric Rawls, Dylan Rawls, Spencer Rawls, Brandon Middleton, Matthew Hensley and Jacob Stephens.
