Mona Helen Dodson Obituary
Mona Helen Dodson, 87, was born in the big city of Roscoe, on July 6, 1928 and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Oct. 11, 2015 in Hobbs, NM.
Mona was the oldest daughter of Mancle Pointer and Lillian Garland Bell.
She is survived by her two siblings, Pat West and Charlie Pointer both of Sweetwater.
She married the love of her life, Dearl C. Dodson, on Nov. 11, 1947, in Sweetwater. They were blessed by five wonderful children, Jimmy Dodson of Hobbs, N.M., Leah Love of Lubbock, Terry Ann Dodson of Odessa and Treva West of Albuquerque, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her middle daughter, Jackie Hunton of Albuquerque, N.M.
Every moment of Mona's life was devoted to ensuring that her family was loved and cared for. She was a member of Fellowship of Believers Church. Most of her waking moments were consumed by pouring out kindness on others, leaving very little time for her own desires. In those few moments she had to herself, she loved to curl up with a great book or spoil her little dogs.
Others left to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, in addition to many extended, loving family and friends.
She was laid to rest on Oct. 13, 2015, at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobbs, N.M. with Pastor David Matkins officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, N.M. Condolences can be made at www.chapelofhopefuneralhome.com.
