Ollie Stephen "Steve" Oatman Obituary
A tough-loving sweetheart of a man, Steve Oatman, passed away April 28, 2015 at his home on the Double Heart Ranch after a valiant fight with cancer. The love of his life was Pam Oatman, wife of 20 years. She and his sister, Tamra, were privileged to be by his side and listen to his stories and tall tales for the last several weeks.
Steve left his mark in so many ways. An avid bow hunter, he created beautiful bows that are works of art.  He loved the Double Heart Ranch, climbing towers and his beloved dogs. But most of all he loved is family: his wife, Pam; son, Channing; sister and brother in law, Tamra-Shae Oatman and Eric Collier; nephews, Hunter Oatman-Stanford, Dashiell Oatman-Stanford, Cason Fayles, and Tyler Fayles; and niece, Callie Oatman.
Steve was born Oct. 11, 1953 in Sweetwater, Texas.
Steve graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1971 where he was a captain of the Sweetwater Mustangs football team. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1976 and was a strong supporter of the Red Raiders.
Steve will be missed by many.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Larry Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Double Heart Ranch.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: HALT (Sweetwater AA), account #1000554, First Financial Bank, 201 Elm, Sweetwater, TX  79556.
