Raymond T. Gomez Obituary
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond T. Gomez, age 69, of Sweetwater will be Monday, September 26,2016 at 10a.m at Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating.
Interment will be at the Garden of Memories under the direction of Mccoy Funeral Home.
Rosary will be Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 6p.m at the Chapel of Memories.
Memorial service will be Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 7p.m at the Chapel of Memories with Rev. Loran Rule officiating.
Gomez died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born March 25, 1947 in Sweetwater.
He married Gloria Herrera on February 13, 1971 in Sweetwater.
Raymond was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Raymond was a 4th degree Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Holy Name Society and a member of Immaculate Parish Council. He also was a High School Youth leader for Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Raymond worked for Lonestar Industries where he retired after 37 years. He was in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He loved to follow his kids in sports, where he attended, coached and did book keeping.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Gomez of Sweetwater, TX; his sons Chris Gomez and Shannon Hanzel of Sweetwater, Adrian Gomez and Trisha Smith of Abilene; his daughter Monica Gomez and Fabian Venzor of Sweetwater; grandchildren: Krystian Gomez, Mazus Martinez, Alex Gomez, and Alicia Gomez; sisters: Sandra Gomez of San Angelo,TX and Elva DeLa Cruz and husband Jerry of Sweetwater.
He was preceded in Death by his parents Raymond and Connie Gomez and brother Gilbert Gomez.
Pallbearers are Edward Gomez, Lupe Gomez, Tony Gomez, Jerry Gomez, Mario Gomez, and Jason Gomez.
Honarary Pallbearers are Frank Gomez, Roland Herrera, Tony Lara and Rudy Torrez.
