Ronald Lewis "Ron" Snyder Obituary
Services for Ronald Lewis (Ron) Snyder, 66, of Sweetwater, will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Clower, Rev. Tommy Self, and Rev. Allen Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, located at 401 E. Third St. in Sweetwater.
Snyder died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on December 12, 1949 in Loveland. He married Mary Jane Kendra on November 20, 1980 in Sweetwater.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. In 1968, he moved to Roscoe and graduated from Roscoe High School the same year. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. He had worked at Roscoe Schools; the Roscoe, Snyder, & Pacific Railroad; Patsy's Place; the Texaco Station in Roscoe; and retired as a State Prison Corrections Officer. He had lived in Sweetwater and Roscoe the past 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Snyder of Sweetwater; mother, Thelma Snyder of Sweetwater; three sons, Todd Snyder & wife Lana of Lubbock, Michael Brown & wife Ester of Granbury, and Scott Brown & wife Melissa of Granbury; daughter, Nancy (Brown) Goggins & husband Robert Earl of Wills Point; sister, Jann Daily of Abilene; sister-in-law, Patricia Brooks of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren, Mason Todd Snyder, Lindie J. Burk, Nichalas Brown, Kathy Brown, Jeremiah Brown, Issac Brown, and Kendra Sturdavant; and six great grandchildren, Emerie Nicholson, Kristine Richardson, Kaylee Rodriquez, Dillon James Casas, and Micah Brown.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Durwood Snyder, on June 5, 1989; and a grandson, Matthew Di Salvo.
