Roxie Smith Foreman awoke on Sunday August 6, 2017 in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Roxie was born on Oct 11, 1934 in Midland County to Lewis Randsom and Sarah M. (Sally) Gray Smith. Roxie married the love of her life, George W. Foreman, Jr. on Oct 18, 1952 in Midland County. They lived in Midland until 1961 when they moved to Sweetwater where they made their home for over 50 years. Roxie was a devoted homemaker and spent many hours in her kitchen preparing meals for George and 4 hungry boys. She was an avid photographer, bird watcher and master gardener. She and George loved the mountains and cool weather and spent many summers at Fun Valley in Colorado. In 2002, they celebrated their 50th anniversary there with their family. Roxie and George were active members of Trinity Baptist Church for over 50 years where Roxie was active in many ministries. She provided delicious food when needed and was the official photographer for the church directory for several years. Roxie was a prayer warrior for her boys, their families and many others over the years. She is survived by her four sons and their wives: Bruce (Lesa) Abilene, Rusty (Vickie) San Angelo, Scooter (Bobbie) San Angelo, and Toby (Jana) Franklin. Roxie was a loving "Mema" to her eight grandchildren: Craig (Haley) Odessa, Staci Londerholm (Rob) San Angelo, Ashley Sere (Andy) Houston, Lindsay Cooper (Travis) Frisco, Holly Foreman (fiancé Bryan Lopez) San Angelo, Cali Fullick (Clay) Conroe, Grant Foreman Franklin, Ashton Foreman Franklin, and step grandchildren Matthew Lloyd San Angelo and Michelle Lloyd San Angelo. Roxie also had five precious great-grandchildren; Carter, Preslee, Piper, Kyson, and Ruby. Brothers Randall Smith (Cleo) Brownwood and Bobbie Smith (Sandra) Leakey and brother-in-law Jack Foreman (Barbara) Mineral Wells. Roxie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, her parents, sisters Doris, Wilma, and brother Ted. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at McCoy Funeral Home. A Celebration of Roxie's life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Senior Care of Meadowcreek and Gretel and the staff of Kindred Hospice for their gentle, loving care over the last few weeks.
