Roy Ray Franklin Obituary
Services for Roy Ray Franklin, age 83, of Sweetwater will be at 10a.m, Tuesday, September 27, 2016. at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Matt James officiating.
Interment will be at Hawley Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016 from 6p.m to 8p.m at McCoy Funeral Home.
Franklin died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1933 in Windham.
He married Bobbie L. Rice in 2009 at Hawley.
Ray was a Avid Bluegrass Lover and had attended many Bluegrass Festivals. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Ray had worked for many years at Miles Auto Sales in Sweetwater. He also was retired from the Railroad and Truckdriving.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Franklin of Sweetwater, TX; sons Ken Franklin and wife Debbie of Florida Terry Franklin of Navasota, TX;daughter: Donna Gilbert and husband Terrell of Plano, TX; sister Maybell Messer and husband John of Lubbock, TX; stepdaughters: Kathy Ross of Big Spring, TX, Kim Pruitt and husband Mark of Searcy, Arkansas; stepsons Larry Ross of Hawley, TX Eddie Ross and wife Jenny of Hawley, TX, Chuck Ross of Hawley, TX DeWayne Ross and wife Kathryn of Anna, TX and numerous grandchildren, great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Pallbearers are Randy Franklin, Tyler Ross, Jimmy Toney,Tony Messer, Kris Sutton, and Beau Hart.
