Sidney Harold Staas, a long time resident of Fisher County , passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1929.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William Charles and Anna Elizabeth Staas; and also his sister, Nora Lois Scherwitz.
Sidney took special care of his mother for 25 years after his father passed on Jan. 15, 1949. He was a farmer, stockman, who enjoyed all the aspects of farm life. He is survived by a niece, Judy King of Abilene; and three nephews, Jerry Scherwitz, Larry Scherwitz and Terry Scherwitz, all of Fisher County.
Sidney was a Christian who honored his faith.
Arrangements have been made with McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Family visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the McCoy Funeral Home. Graveside rites will be held at the Sweetwater Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Feb. 17.
