U.H. "Rusty" Allen Jr. Obituary
Rusty Allen went home for Christmas on December 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite Allen in 2001, son Bruce Allen in 2014, mother Lizzie B. Allen in 1986 and brother Bill Allen in 1999. Rusty is survived by his immediate family, son and daughter-in-law Don and Holly Allen of Fredericksburg, TX, daughter-in-law Tracy Allen of Buda, TX, grandsons Josh Allen, of Fredericksburg, TX, Colby Allen of Denver, CO, and Caleb Allen of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his longtime companion and "sidekick" Ada Belle Clark and her daughters, Teri Parsons and husband Reese and Denna Kirkpatrick, all of Sweetwater, TX. Rusty was a lifelong member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church, and employed for 41 years at USG in Sweetwater, TX retiring as a production/shift foreman. Prior to working for USG Rusty was drafted and served his country in The US Marine Corp during the Korean War. After retiring from USG Rusty became very active in his community, volunteering and serving on various non-profit boards including Goodwill Industry Advisory Board, Sweetwater Women's Resource Center and the Sweetwater Mustang's Booster Club. Rusty had a true servant's heart, sharing and serving others till the day he died. He was a great encourager and an amazing example of faithfulness and sacrificial love. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend Terry Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. Wednesday until service time. McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Tim Hall, Rodger Bruce, Max Headrick, Jeff Headrick, Reese Parsons and Jeff Stein. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of the Highland Heights United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his church Highland Heights United Methodist Church, the Women's Resource Center of Sweetwater or donor's favorite charity.
